Bridging the Gap, Kash Boy Trill Masters the Art of Balancing Music and Entrepreneurship

Two weeks before the seven-year anniversary of the Kash Boy Trill 2014 mixtape 'Paid In Full: Volume 2' the success from his brand new sophomore album 'Paid In Full' (the album) is evident through the respect gained.

Though only 11 tracks long, multiple subject matter is touched upon in the album from trap music to club friendly bangers. A new subject matter of women friendly fans has sprung about, however. On the last track 'Thug In Ya Life' there is a background melody sung with secret Marvin Gaye vocals and an interpolation of Tupac's 'Rather Be Ya NIGGA' sung by Trill which sounds like a dedication to the woman in his life.

Though flexing hard on tracks 'Level Up' and 'Tukked' my favorite song is 'Don't Spill My Drank (Part 2)' featuring DA-Go Muzik. DA-Go has collaborated with Grammy nominated Panamanian group Los Rakas and San Francisco rapper Berner, who is also the owner of the cannabis brand Cookies. It has come to a point in Trill's career where he aims to make current music the way he wants to hear it in his head. His music catalogue boasts a slew of notable names, but a lot of in house production was enlisted for this album. The most notable outside producer is Def Jam's signee Trakmatik on 'Get Money Type,' which carries another Tupac interpolation this from 'Hail Mary.' The Marauderz handled a bulk of the remaining production, as they are signed to the KBR imprint and also produce for other artists on the label.

Trill stresses the importance of ownership in this business and making your own statement without having to involve or rely on people who may affect the outcome or control of direction.

"I started by hustling black market cassette tapes in 1994 for pocket money," said Kash Boy Trill. "My drive is to always set my expectations high and believe in myself to be able to accomplish anything possible to bring my goals to fruition."

Trill still currently stands as the CEO of ARJM Marketing Group and the Creative Director for the lifestyle clothing brand Plattire, the latter of which he is the Founder. The marketing firm has given him a platform to step out on and say I am a Black man too and this is how you can make it like others already have. As of late the direction for ARJM has been in exploring binary options and bitcoin trading through NFTs.

"The business plans I have made were created with help from Dr. Mofidi - who teaches business management at Merritt College," said Trill. "I figured out what it actually takes in order to run an LLC before the age of 30, which I feel already puts me steps ahead of the competition."

His goal by the end of 2022 is to raise $1,000 on behalf of ARJM Marketing Group to donate to the East Oakland Youth Development Center to help bring technology and reseources to at-risk youth in the neighborhood he grew up in.

"The lack of resources for our youth to explore careers and job paths in my neighborhood is scarce and even worse now with Covid-19," says Trill. "I know that mental health is real and often begins at a young age but I feel with direction for their future we can give them hope."

At 35 years old it looks like Kash Boy Trill is already ascending to other avenues and working on creating a positive future for his family and for his community. The need for more positive young Black male figures is necessary for us as a community to move forward.

It always starts with one voice!

San Francisco Giants win a record 106 games in a single season

On the cusp of winning the NL West pennant, the San Francisco Giants have won a franchise record 106 total regular season wins.

They currently stand two games ahead of their rival the Los Angeles Dodgers.

“We’ve kind of joked about it, mainly the older guys,” outfielder  said. “How we have so many wins, but every day you come to the park and we still have to win that game -- there’s no letup.”

LaMonte Wade Jr. was also recently name the 2021 Willie Mac Award winner prior to tonight's game.

This historic game defied the odds in smashing the 1904 then New York Giants franchise record of 105 wins in the regular season.
