Plattire Founder Kash Boy Trill Discusses E-40 Co-Sign, Karl Kani Influence, Spring/Summer 2026 Collection

By Lauryn Williams

Plattire streetwear brand's founder Kash Boy Trill is focusing all his energy into pushing his brand in 2026 with a slate of significant releases including the Blackout and Pure White collections coming this Spring/Summer.

"The inspiration behind the Blackout classic big logo hoodie comes from Karl Kani's use of simple yet symbolic designs," says Trill.  Kani begun adding Tupac to the marketing scheme during the 1990s because of what he stood for both as an artist and as a man knowing the brand would grow with the youth in the streets and urban culture.

"Attaching the brand to fixtures like E-40, Tupac, and J Stalin represents the culture in the Bay Area on a larger scale and staying connected to the largest names in the local communities will help establish the brand on solid foundational ground," said Trill. "Meeting E-40 and speaking to him about my vision really turned things around because he said he really likes the designs and my ambition, which gave me the confidence and reassurance to keep going."

A strong classic logo that is symbolic with the Plattire brand is the main focus for the upcoming slate of releases.

"The foundation for Plattire has been laid down with my creative team the past several years and now the goal is to become recognized as a pillar in streetwear in The Bay Area, specifically focusing on building engagement throughout the community," added Trill.

The items in the Spring/Summer of 2026 include the Blackout classic logo hoodie for the Spring and the Gallery Department Pure White Capsule for the Summer. For the Plattire web store click the following link: https://purelabelattire.bigcartel.com/

Production Group The Marauderz Release Compilation Album "Hotsummernights"

 By Lauryn Williams

After over 10 years in the hip-hop production space, the WestCoast crew The Marauderz finally released their first official compilation album title "Hotsummernights" on KBR the Label August 28.

The album intro titled 'Energizer' definitely gives big energy vibes with a live band orchestrated track with drums and guitars flowing effortlessly through the track. The title track 'Hotsummernights' begins with a sample from A Tribe Called Quest explaining the term 'marauderz' and finds Oakland native Kash Boy Trill flowing over heavy bass guitar sounds and synths for a backyard bbq summer vibe. The track 'Goodnight Flow' has Long Beach rapper turned visual artist Kay Cleen intelligently rhyming bars over a Wu Tang type beat. The track 'Forever' leads off with a Marvelletes sample and has Michigan artist Soul Prophet spitting hot flows in a 20 bar verse followed by Kash Boy Trill adding the sauce. On 'Press Telegram' Kay Cleen serves a flow symbolic of a street journalist of the everyday life living in the mean streets of Long Beach. On 'Race With Luck' the San Diego native BC gives a reflection on the choices made in the course of time advising listeners to slow down and take in every moment and decision with care as soul songstress Amerika sings the hook. A visual for 'Race With Luck is said to be released in October. The track '1990 Memory Lane' takes us back in time to the nostalgia of a 1990s kid growing up in the hood as Kay Cleen delivers dope lines yet again. The outro 'Late Nights and Early Mornings' is a beat alone with no lyrics but a solid track to light up some ganja and relax to.

Overall I am impressed by the compilation that stays true to the undergroud hip-hop culture with a mixture of sample heavy beats and intrumentals fit to lay back and zone out to. I hope listeners take the time to appreciate this body of work as a great underground WestCoast cult classic. There should be more to come from The Marauderz as this is said to be just the beginning of a new era.

Making Waves on the Coast, Kash Boy Trill Drops 4th Studio Album "Trill Steppa" with a Tsunami of Slaps

By Lauryn Williams

The best album released to date by Kash Boy Trill, his fourth solo release "Trill Steppa" lives up to all of the expectations. Boasting features from Shake da Mayor, Pimp C, Soul Prophet and Gucci Mane this album packs punches on every track with confidence in the unique delivery. The first single released December 4th, is "My Swag" produced by none other than WolfPack producer Young L, known for producing the famous Bay Area smash hit "Vans" while signed to Jive records through Too Short. "Wrist Go Brazy" featuring Gucci Mane is produced by Atlanta producer Blokkyuseeme and slaps with hard hitting drums with a hook by the Trap God himself Big Guwop. Confidence is on full display on "No Lackin'" with ryhmes like 'The Black Jackie Chan pop out with a chopshick, trap booming get money be the object, I don't wanna talk if money ain't the topic, strap on my lap don't make a nigga pop it.' There is a second song produced by Young L on Trill's album titled "Put That On." The relationship Trill has with Young L dates back to their high school days when they would frequently meet up to make beats, skateboard at the Berkeley sate park, and go on the road when Trill was invited to tour with The Pack a few times. The rare Pimp C appearance comes from Trill's relationship with production trio The Marauderz. The most inspirational song is "1989 World Series" produced by Oakland producer Eddie Jay which is a tribute song to the hometown Oakland Athletics who just played their final season in history in Oakland a few month ago which I see why Trill is also wearing an A's hat in the album art and tapped in with film director Jean Henderson for the tribute visual to late great hall of famer Ricky Henderson just passed away days after the album was released. Fresno legend Shake da Mayor also makes an appearance on this album with a dope verse over production by Blokkyuseeme and DJ Deezel. Overall this album is extremely well rounded that has a bit of something for everybody's hip-hop taste with production that doesn't miss and features worth checking out! I give this album 5 out of 5 stars.

Kash Boy Trill drops greatly anticipated album SPDM4 to rave review

In the 4th installment and finale to the SPDM series, Kash Boy Trill has released the biggest album of his career in SPDM4, including the deluxe version that boasts plenty of big name features. The production is on point from in-house talents DJ Deezel, Blokkyuseeme, and The Marauderz. The lead street single released off the album is "Band Practice" and features Fresno legend Shake da Mayor over a crazy drum sequence production by Atlanta producer Blokkyuseeme with assistance from DJ Deezel that actually sounds like bass drums beating in the background. The second single "Do tha Dash" has hard-hitting bass lines with smooth laid back yet gangster flow on an ode to street car racing culture centered in East Oakland. The music video for "Do the Dash" flexes an Audi A4 with twin turbo literally dashing through the streets with an interpolation of scenes from the cult classic film "Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift." Wearing a hockey mask in the video and showing the Drift King racing scene is an obvious nod to the notorious Japanese mob gang The Yakuza. The track "Slime Season" boasts hard hitting bass lines and an ode to his Damu blood gang affiliation. "Fuck 12" is not only a representation of Trill's resentment for the police, but also a memoriam to all those fallen to injustice by the authorities with a shoutout to the likes of Brianna Taylor, George Floyd, Trayvon Martin, and also the injustice incarceration of 1017 affiliate Pooh Shiesty. "Summertime Fine" reflects an 80s vibe with its unique drum and snare combination with the deluxe version including additional vocals from legendary r&b group Jodeci that contains an interpolation of the group's 1995 hit "Freek'n You." The song "One of One" sounds like epic production from the Neptunes with verses highlighting his one of a kind flow and swagger over alien like space sounds. Another classic retro collab comes on "Forever" with production trio The Marauderz perfectly sampling The Marvalettes and frequent Grand Rapids, Michigan collaborator Soul Prophet adding a soulful and heartfelt verse. The major unexpected highlight of the album is the deluxe edition feature from Pusha T on the chorus of "Baller Alert" with a reflection of the drug dealer chauvinist flavor that has so consistently been represented in Trill's music his entire career. The beat on "Center of Attention" is crazy as DJ Deezel highlights his own ability to go absolutely crazy on the production side while Trill keeps spitting hot bars in an almost conceited manner. The deluxe version also offers the track "She Wanna" featuring fellow Oakland rapper Lil' Rue over production from Berkeley's own Young L of The Pack, who Trill has had an extensive 20 year friendship with that spans multiple productions. "Swag Me Out" stands out for its production from Atlanta legend Nitti Beatz that finds itself on the effortless flex of the combination of the swag of Atlanta mixed with Oakland. I have yet to see another artist from The Bay Area collaborate with so much talent on this level. Adding to that the fact Trill has continued to release all this music independently through KBR the Label is staying true to pioneers from The Bay like E-40 who use their networking ability and notorious affiliations to drop major label level albums on the independent scene and continue to be successful at doing that. I am thoroughly impressed by this album and give this a 5 out of 5 stars.
